In your experience, have people who retired often suffered through some kind of personal tragedy shortly thereafter?

Charles Schultz died the day his last 'Peanuts' cartoon was published. Thurgood Marshall died shortly after retiring from the U.S. Supreme Court. Harry Reasoner died shortly after retiring from '60 Minutes.' In less tragic events, John Elway, Dan Marino, and numerous other sports and entertainment personalities have divorced shortly after retirement. On a personal level, I've had three co-workers who have died within a year of retirement, all younger than 70.
