What’s new in each version of the YouThink app, newest first.
1.3.2 — 2026-08-18 (build 1074)
See how a question is going before you answer.
- Open the comments on any question and the answer split now sits at the top, the same numbers the web page shows.
- Answering is still how you unlock the breakdown by age, gender and region, and how you join the conversation.
- Tapping a comment notification opens the conversation over your Activity list, so closing it takes you back where you were.
- Bug fixes & improvements
1.3.1 — 2026-08-16 (build 1073)
Text that always looks right, and a tidier signup.
- The app's typeface now ships inside the app, so text no longer falls back to a plain system font on a weak connection.
- Picking a handle at signup: the field accepts only characters a handle can use, and Continue waits until the name you actually typed has been checked.
- Bug fixes & improvements
1.3.0 — 2026-08-12 (build 1072)
Find is now Explore, and it shows you what people are actually saying.
- A new Comments tab with the latest comments from across YouThink.
- Tap any comment to open that conversation, right at the comment you tapped.
- Read the comments on any question without answering it first. Answering is still how you join in.
- Questions and People moved under Explore too. Search works the same.
1.2.1 — 2026-08-09 (build 1071)
1.2.0 — 2026-08-08 (build 1070)
A cleaner feed card and a smoother Ask form.
- Question cards drop the inline gesture labels; a one-time hint teaches the photo swipe instead.
- Opening the keyboard no longer squeezes the feed card.
- On the Ask form, the Preview button scrolls with the form and the keyboard steps aside when you tap photos or answers.
- YouThink is now a phone app: no more iPad or Android tablet installs.
- Bug fixes & improvements
1.1.0 — 2026-08-07 (build 1069)
A smarter feed and a better Find tab.
- Find now sorts by Recent, adds a Latest Comment sort to follow active conversations, and lets you hide questions you've answered with one tap.
- Results glide in with a smooth new animation when your answer lands.
- Your feed mixes in more evenly split questions, not just landslides.
- Bug fixes & improvements
1.0.0 — 2026-08-04 (build 1068)
Notifications your way, plus full control of your account.
- Turn push notifications on anytime from Settings, Notifications. No more being locked out if you said "Not now" at signup.
- We may offer to turn on notifications right when they matter: after you post a question, add a friend, or send a message. Say "Don't ask again" and we won't.
- Delete your account anytime from Settings. We'll email you a link to confirm it's really you.
- Results now appear the instant you answer.
0.6.0 — 2026-07-23 (build 1065)
A smoother feed and a few new touches.
- Answering slides you straight to the next question, and your pick spins and flies off as you vote.
- Change your email address anytime from Settings.
- React to messages with 👍, on bigger, easier-to-read message text.
- Key members now wear a golden key on their profile.
0.5.0 — 2026-07-12 (build 1064)
Block and report to keep your feed yours.
- Block anyone from their profile. You'll stop seeing each other, and you can report accounts that cross the line.
- Answer your own questions now, just like everyone else.
- Edit messages you've sent, and jump to any conversation faster from the new menus.
- Question pages now answer inline and stay put once you've voted, with no bounce-back.
- Reported questions leave the feed and search right away.
0.4.0 — 2026-07-10
Direct messages are here.
- Message friends one-on-one or start a group chat, right from their profile or the new Inbox tab — your notifications live there too.
- Share questions straight into a conversation — with a note, and react to any message with an emoji.
- People you're not friends with land in Message Requests; accept, decline, or just reply.
- Prefer friends-only? Flip it in Settings → Privacy.
0.3.0 — 2026-07-08
Push notifications are here.
- Get notified the moment a friend sends you a request, someone comments on your question, your question is approved, or a friend shares a question with you.
- Tap any notification to jump straight to the right place in the app.
- Choose exactly which notifications you get in Settings → Notifications.
- Now requires iOS 15 or later.
0.2.4 — 2026-06-26
React to comments, plus reading and reporting polish.
- React to any comment with an emoji, and see how many others reacted.
- Cleaner comment and results layouts that are easier to read.
- Report options now match what you're reporting, whether it's a question or a comment.
0.2.3 — 2026-06-24
Save the questions you love — and show some love back.
- Bookmark any question to come back to later, all collected in the new Bookmarks tab on your profile.
- Like a question with a tap, and see how many others liked it.
- Your profile now has Liked and Bookmarks tabs next to Asked and Answered.
- Theme and screen-transition polish.
0.2.2 — 2026-06-23
Keep answering from anywhere, plus results and reporting updates.
- Tap a question in search, on a profile, in your Answered tab, or from a shared link and you now keep swiping through a feed instead of stopping on one.
- Results hide demographic groups too small to show anonymously.
- New Child safety and Contact us links in Settings, plus a child-safety reason when reporting.
0.2.1 — 2026-06-19
Get to know YouThink before you sign up.
- New "Learn more" walkthrough: a quick tour — swipe to answer, see results by age, gender, and region.
- Tutorial replay now works on any feed, including empty tabs.
- Results screen polish: clearer ordering, an answer legend, and inline media.
- Friendlier pop-up messages: swipe away in any direction, plus a close button.
0.1.9 — 2026-06-18
Imported questions now carry their history into the demographic breakdown too, plus quicker photos.
- Imported questions show historical demographics — the breakdown by generation, gender, and region on questions carried over from the original YouThink now reflects the historical answers, not just new ones. (Last update gave those questions their historical totals; this one fills in the breakdown behind them.)
- Faster profile photos — avatars load quicker throughout the app and no longer flash their initials before the picture appears.
- Smoother results — answering a question shows loading dots while the results come in, instead of a brief blank moment.
0.1.8 — 2026-06-17
Older questions come with results now, plus a couple of small touches.
- Imported questions have history — questions carried over from the
original YouThink now show their historical answer counts the moment you
answer, so the results bar starts from the real split instead of zero. (The
demographic breakdown still reflects only new answers, so a question can show
a big total with little to see in the breakdown yet.)
- Tap your avatar to zoom — tapping a profile photo opens it full-screen.
- Wording — "answer" replaces "vote" across a few screens, to match how the
rest of the app talks.
Worth a focused look: answer a few older questions and confirm the results bar
shows a real split — often hundreds or thousands of answers — and that the
little insight line reflects that (not "you're the first to answer"). Then open
a profile and tap the photo to view it full-screen.
0.1.7 — 2026-06-16
A better share sheet for sending questions outside the app.
- Share with anyone — tapping Share on a question now gives you a row of
quick actions below your friends: Copy link, Messages (texts the link), and
Share to… (your phone's full share sheet for any other app). Picking
"Share to…" closes the YouThink sheet and hands off to the system share
sheet.
- Share with YouThink friends stays at the top — pick friends and send,
same as before. If you haven't added any friends yet, a short note explains
how, instead of an empty list.
- Nicer link previews — when you share a question that has no photo, the
link preview now shows a YouThink card instead of the asker's profile
picture.
Worth a focused look: open a question, tap Share, try Copy link and Messages,
then Share to… (it should close the YouThink sheet and open your phone's share
sheet). Send a link to yourself and confirm tapping it opens the app on that
question.
0.1.6 — 2026-06-15
Share questions and profiles outside the app.
- Share a link — the share button on a question (in the feed and on the
results sheet) now has a "Share link" button that opens your phone's share
sheet, so you can text or post a link to any question. Every profile has a
share button too.
- Open shared links in the app — tapping a youthink.com question or profile
link on your phone opens YouThink straight to that question or profile instead
of the browser, as long as the app is installed. A link you tap while signed
out opens once you sign in.
Worth a focused look: from a question tap Share → Share link, send the link to
yourself (Messages or Notes), then tap it — it should open the app on that exact
question. Try the same from a profile's share button. Then sign out, tap a link,
sign in, and confirm it still lands you on the right screen.
Heads up: deep links only work on a real device build (not the simulator /
emulator), so test these on the phone.
0.1.4 — 2026-06-12
Find other people on YouThink.
- Search for people — the Find tab now has two tabs, Questions and People.
Switch to People and search by name or handle to find someone, then follow
them or open their profile to send a friend request. Sort and filters still
live under the Questions tab, where they belong.
- Find people from your friends and follows — there's now a "find people"
button on your Friends screen and on your Followers and Following lists, so
you can jump straight to searching from any of those.
Worth a focused look: open Find, switch to the People tab, search for someone
you know, and confirm Follow works from the results and that tapping a row opens
their profile. Also try the find-people button on Friends / Followers /
Following.
0.1.3 — 2026-06-11
Returning-user account claim, plus counts on your profile tabs.
- Claiming your old YouThink account — if you had an account on the original
YouThink, signing in now walks you through claiming it: a welcome-back screen,
a step to add your birthday, the terms, and then a quick pass to confirm or
skip your profile details (gender, region, and so on) before you land on the
feed. Entering an email tied to an old account nudges you to log in instead of
starting a brand-new account.
- Backing out and skipping — you can leave the claim flow at any point
(Cancel signs you out), and on the gender / region steps you can tap a choice
again to deselect it and skip.
- Asked / Answered counts — your profile's Asked and Answered tabs now show
how many questions are in each, so you can see the size of each list at a
glance.
Worth a focused look: from a returning (old-YouThink) account, go through the
claim flow end to end — the birthday step, deselecting gender / region, and
that Cancel cleanly backs you out — and confirm you land on the feed.
0.1.2 — 2026-06-08
Fixes connectivity on the Android beta build:
- Sign-in / loading anything — the previous Android build couldn't reach the
server at all (you'd tap "Send code" and see "Could not reach the server").
That build was missing a network permission; it's fixed now, so signing in and
the rest of the app work.
Worth a focused look: open the app, enter your email, tap Send code, and
confirm the 6-digit code arrives and logs you in.
0.1.1 — 2026-06-08
Fixes and polish on top of the first beta:
- Commenting — on a question's results screen, the comment box no longer
hides behind the keyboard when the question runs long, and you can now tap
anywhere outside the box to dismiss the keyboard if you change your mind.
- Large text sizes — if you use a bigger system text size, the app no
longer breaks its layout in places like the top tabs and the results
screen. (For now it caps how far text scales up; fuller large-text support
comes later.)
- Terms & Privacy — cleaner in-app Terms / Privacy pages.
Worth a focused look: open a question's results and try commenting on one
with a long (multi-line) question. And if you've bumped your iPhone's text
size up, check the feed, the top tabs, and the results screen still look
right.
0.1.0 — 2026-06-08
First beta release. What you can do:
- Answer & see results — swipe through two-choice questions and pick a
side. After you vote, see how everyone answered, broken down by
demographics, plus how the people you follow / your friends answered. You
can change your answer once.
- Discuss — comment on a question once you've voted, and react to other
people's comments.
- Find & ask — browse and search questions with filters, and ask your
own (with a preview before you post it).
- People — follow other users, send and accept friend requests,
organize friends into groups, and share a question directly to someone.
- Notifications — in-app notifications for activity on your questions
and from people you follow, with preferences to tune what you receive.
- You — your profile, light/dark appearance, privacy settings, content
reporting, and Terms / Privacy in Settings.
- Sign in — email-based signup and sign-in.
