I have. I used to run one even as a kid. At first my dad ran it for me, but when I was 9 or 10 I figured out all the stuff and did it on my own. a BBS was where your computer would call another computer directly and play games/message/chat/etc. For most of them there was only one line so only one user could be online at a time. Some of the bigger ones had many lines so people could engage in chat etc. It died out in the late 90s mostly, though there are still TELNET ones up now.
