A Kansas City North mother had a close call Thursday when she left her 2-year-old son in her vehicle alone and the car was stolen. The woman told police she left her car running outside a Best Western on Northeast 43rd Street while she went to check into the hotel. While she was inside the building, three men allegedly drove off in her vehicle with the toddler inside. Police searched by land and air for the car and found it, about an hour later and two miles away. The child was found unharmed with the vehicle. The three men were taken into custody. It is illegal in Kansas City to leave a child 10 years old or younger unattended in a car. The case has been turned over to prosecutors who will decide whether to charge the woman...
