Hands Across America took place on May 25th, 1986. People all across the country from LA to NYC joined hands singing the Hands Across America song. My mom and I were living in South Bend, IN and we did take part. I'm not sure if it was part of the actual line, though. Some places had their own separate line just so they could be in it. And unfortunately there were some gaps along the main line, too.
