No need to brush the fur, clean the poop, bring to the vet's or spend money on food and time for companionship and walks. But on the other hand, its just an inanimate object that is made to behave like the real thing.. take out the batteries, and its good as dead. Furthermore, its hard and unsympathetic.. will our affections for living things really be that easily replaced by a robotic mechanism? Afterall, the tamagotchi and the online pets (ie: neopets)were a huge success.
