Danielle and Nick have different fathers but the same mother. They grew up apart after Nick was placed in foster care as a child, and met as adults in 2006. At the meeting in their mother Susan's home, they were both struck with an unexpected thunderbolt of attraction. Their mother Susan rues the day she invited her son back into the family hoping to make up for all the years she missed with him. She reported them to police after walking in on them making love, and shouted in horror: "What you are doing is morally wrong." The pair were put on a year's probation after admitting incest. They were warned that if they had sex again they could face a jail sentence. They've discussed moving to another country where incest is not illegal so they can live together as partners - although they would not be allowed to marry.
