Airports in the UK say they can no longer afford the spiraling costs of security. According to the aviation industry security costs at British airports have risen by 150% since new security measures were introduced after 9/11. Airports currently pay for all of their security costs, but claim this is no longer sustainable. The government pays for security on trains and roads and the aviation industry wants the government to pay their security bill as well.
