Did your high school use the term "rubric" to describe a grading scale?

A "Grading rubric" Like from 1 to 6. 1 and 2 was bad. 3 was considered average. 4 was like a B+/A-, 5 around an A, 6 A+, like best ever. My mom hated the term because it was misused and apparently meant a brick in medieval Europe, but she hates lots of things for no reason. :-P
