Do you think the media throws the word 'hero' around too much?

I was just reminded of a story of a little kid that dialed 911 for her mom and was labeled a hero. It seems pretty ridiculous to me that dialing 911 makes someone a hero; afterall all it requires is an index finger, or even a pinkie will do, and the ability to remember 9-1-1. It seems to devalue true heroes.
