The Greeks have 3 words for 'love.' 'Eros' is romantic love. Obviously that does not apply here. 'Philos' is 'brotherly love,' as in 'Philadelphia,' as in the love we feel for our fellow human beings. 'Agape' is 'divine love,' like the love a deity would have for people. While obviously humans can not match the capacity for love that any deity might have, is the love parents feel for their children more like the love we have for other humans or like a watered-down version of agape?
