If Yoko Ono had been a sexy blond actress would anyone have cared as much about her and John Lennon being together?

I've seen interviews where a reporter told John, 'I can see why you want peace, you must never get any at home.' He said this right as Yoko was saying something. It seems to me if she had been a sexy movie star or something everyone would have understood why he was with her and shut up about it but since she was different people had to freak out.
