Have you ever known that someone you loved only had a few months to live?

I just found out today that my friend only has two months. He just got married too and they were so happy and then he found out he has bone cancer. It's horrible. I was with my grandmother when the doctor told her she had six months to live and she died two nights later while I was with her.
