Nicole's bewitched Thursday October 10, 2002 NICOLE KIDMAN is itching to twitch her nose and cast a spell on her fans in a big-screen version of the TV classic Bewitched. The 35-year-old star is in negotiations to play Samantha, immortalized by Elizabeth Montgomery in the series that ran from 1964 to 1972. 'Nicole has always loved the show, and Samantha is her all-time favorite,' an insider tells Star. Nicole's publicist, Catherine Olim, confirms: 'This deal is something she's been interested in for some time.' In the movie, as in the series, Samantha is a witch who marries a mortal man and promises not to use supernatural powers because they embarrass her hubby. But as problems arise, Samantha can't resist, and trouble brews faster than you can say 'abracadabra.' On the sitcom, Montgomery did double duty as Samantha and her wicked-witch cousin Serena. 'Nicole can't wait to get into the whole Samantha-Serena thing, too,' the insider adds. Austin Powers star Mike Myers is top choice to play Samantha's hubby, Darren, say sources. And the film will go further than the series ever could in special effects - thanks to computer magic. 'It'll be reminiscent of Harry Potter, with Samantha as a little girl going to magic school,' adds the insider. 'There's no end to what the effects wizards can do and with Nicole in the lead, they can't lose.'
