Is it worth it trying to argue or debate with people who hold racist viewpoints?

Have you, personally, ever witnessed someone change their views? I'm not saying that it's impossible, but I think it's very difficult. I just happen to have seen several back-to-back racist remarks on this site, and I'm looking for some positivity.
