Have you ever used Mercurochrome on a cut or scrape?

My grandfather used to put this on our scrapes and cuts when we were kids, because we complained that Iodine burned too much. I just found out recently that it was banned several years ago because it contains Mercury, but I know we used it as recently as the early 1990s!
