Locke believed that we are all born into a blank stat with an empty, unformed, and featureless mind. However, Locke also believed that our blank minds are ready to gain experience from experimental impressions, and gains knowledge from our five senses and the process of reflection. This concept of the blank mind is known as tabula rasa, which means 'soft tablet.'
