Circular breathing is defined as the ability to inhale and exhale simultaneously. In theory, one would never 'run out of breath' if they utilized this skill. Brass, wind, and reed instrumentalists who can circle breathe are seen as having a major leg up over their peers. The skill can be taught/learned, but is difficult to master.
