Depends on the coast, no? On the Mediterranian coast hurricanes aren't that much of an issue, relevant tsunamis seem to occur only every 4000 years or so and the last earthquakes in that area hit just as hard inland as on the coast. Volcanism is more a threat on the coast/on islands though ...
