German film fans get to watch first, pay later Cinema goers in Germany are being given the chance to watch the film before paying and then judge for themselves how much it was worth. Under the motto Pay Later, visitors to the Friedrichsbau cinema in Freiburg are able to decide for themselves how much they want to pay once they have seen the movie. The unusual idea for the campaign to attract audiences came from manager Michael Wiedermann and is offered every fortnight at Sneak Preview showings. Mr Wiedermann said: 'I thought it would be a good way to bring in customers for films that otherwise no-one would go and see, such as Bruce Paltrow's Duets starring his daughter Gwyneth.' He added that the campaign had so far been a great success. 'Most people are very fair when it's time to pay. One person enjoyed a film so much that they paid around £10 - more than the cost of a regular ticket,' he said.
