Not sure what the SES is known as in the rest of the globe, but here they are they State Emergency Service, which is a volunteer unit that provides relief to residents in natural disaster areas such as bush fires, floods, storms etc. I'm seriously considering volunteering with the local SES. But I also need to pay the bills.. And although charity/volunteer work is admirable, it doesn't put the food on the table.. So I'm at a crossroads. What do you folk say?
