Despite warnings they were committing a mortal sin, at least 1500 worshipers turned out in St. Louis for Christmas Eve Mass led by an excommunicated Roman Catholic priest. The Reverend Marek Bozek and a six-member lay board were excommunicated -- the Catholic Church's most severe penalty -- last week because he left his previous parish without his bishop's permission.
