Will extending drinking hours past 11pm curb British binge drinking and violence?

There seems to be a debate now with half saying the current 11 o'clock closing time sends all the drunkards home together and stirs trouble. The other party say that expanding drinking hours will only increase drink related problems. What seems most likely to you?
