Is it inappropriate for adults who are brother and sister to sleep in the same bed for completely non-sexual purposes? *READ STORY*

My cousins are brother and sister and are both in their early twenties. During Christmas, my aunt and cousins came up form Florida to visit my grandparents and my immediate family. My sister and I wanted to stay the night at my grandparents' house (where my cousins were staying) because we are all very close and rarely get to see each other. One of my cousins (the female one) suggested that she and her brother sleep in the same bed for that night and my sister and I sleep on the floor. Then, out of nowhere, my aunt (AKA their MOTHER) said it was inappropriate for my cousins to sleep in the same bed. Of course this angered my cousins because the mere thought that anyone would think that they would do anything blew their minds. Personally, I didn't see what the problem was and had no idea why my aunt said that. Do YOU think it's inappropriate?
