Every commercial you see for prescription drugs urges you to 'ask your doctor' if it will be beneficial to you. Oftentimes people see commercials for these and think 'That's me!' when really they have no need for the medication. Doctor's give out samples and prescribe these medications regardless because of pressure from pharmaceutical companies. Many times there are cheaper generic drugs that work just as well, if not better, than these expensive brand name drugs, but because of the advertising consumers think they are better than others and end up paying much more than they need to.
