I dislike this. People often say things like 'You can't Google something; 'google' is a noun and that's that!' or '___ isn't a 'real' word; it's slang.' I'm of the opinion that -for the most part- it is our speech that shapes our language rules, not the other way around. 'Crumpeticky', for example, is currently not a word used in English. However, if the word starts to have widespread usage among English-speaking people who generally understand what it means, it *is* a word, regardless of whether it's slang or not. It may not be a word that is acceptable in formal speech, but it's still a word.
