Do you wake up more easily to loud noises or quiet noises?

I've noticed that I wake up to quiet things like a door opening, whispering, a hair dyer down the hall but not loud things like real talking or music. I never hear my roomys alarm (which is loud) but i always hear her open the door. Maybe i'm just weird.
