The theory is that Europeans are so used to war, they become kind of nonchalant about world conflicts because war is such a huge part of their history. But in America, it's such a new country so there haven't been that many wars. So if any country even sneezes, we invade because we don't understand the ramifications of doing so. Having not had hardly any wars on American soil leaves Americans war-ready because they've never lived through it.
