Which type of education is better: Humanist or Christian education?

This has been the dilemma of western education since the renaissance and of American education all along. Both Humanism and Christianity value education very highly. In humanist education the beginning of all knowledge is man and mans limited ability to understand himself and the world around him. In Christianity the beginning of all knowledge is God and Gods revealed word to man in the Bible. In humanist education the end of all knowledge is worldwide universal consensus. That is to say, the best possible outcome is for everyone to have learned the same thing. In Christian education the end of all knowledge and understanding is to know God. In our day we live in an America where humanist education has won and Christian education has been defeated. Because of certain interpretations of the First Amendment in the last 50 years, the Christian element in American education has been removed on the grounds of separation of church and state. We’re seeing the results of that separation now.
