In 1999, a man named George Hodel Jr. died and his son, Steve Hodel came into possesion of George's 'Secret Photo Album'. In this album, among family pictures, was a sort of photo documentary of Elizabeth Short's death. Pictures taken before and after her death, as well as pictures of her during the course of her death, sodomy and mutilation, as well as every news clipping about the murder and notes on how he did it. George Hodel Jr. was an L.A. physician and his son Steve is now a retired L.A.P.D. Homicide detective.
