Look at it this way: a thousand years ago, all scientists thought the earth was the centre of the universe, five hundred years ago all scientists thought the earth was flat, and fifty years ago they thought the atom was the smallest particle of matter. Yet, at each point, they strongly believed in the infallability of their convictions, and most still think they know everything that is needed to be known.
