Do you see the letter 'd' and 't' becoming interchangeable in American English?

In many words in American English, the 't' sound is softened and sounds more like 'd'. I've noticed many Americans mis-spelling words like 'congratulations' and 'strategy' as 'congradulations' and 'stradegy', probably because that's how it's pronounced by them.
