As in having your arms replaced by vastly stronger robotic arms (let's assume all upgrades look exactly like body parts, are permanently attached, and are extremely strong and powerful; they also do not need to be recharged or anything of the sort.) In all cases you will lose a real part of your body, say an arm or a leg.
