Do you find that comments preceded by a phrase such as 'Not to be rude, but...' almost always turn out to actually be rude?
Seriously... unless a person is expecting someone else to take offense, why would they bother saying that? I'm guilty of it from time to time myself, but when I get to thinking about it, it really is silly.
