Would you buy or keep a genetically engineered pet?

Genetically altered cats that can be kept by people normally allergic to felines can already be bought on the open market. But would you like a pet that had been so drastically altered that it couldn't be recognized. Say, how about a live teddy bear? Or the Cheshire cat?
