Understand that when I say 'baby talk', I'm not referring to the high-pitched, sing-songy tone of voice people use on very young kids, but the actual words. Example: Saying 'Does my widdle man want his blanky-poo?' instead of 'Do you want your blanket?' I think that sort of talk has the potential to confuse learning children, because they may not understand what the correct words are. If one parent uses 'blanky-poo' and the other says 'blanket', it may take the kid awhile to figure out that they aren't equally acceptable.
