Should middle school students be suspended for bringing bags of parsley to school?

Three Conyers Middle School students have been charged with of violating the state Controlled Substances Act after a plastic bag filled with parsley was found at the school. The students - two 13-year-olds and a 12-year-old - were released into their parents' custody and suspended for five days. 'We believe, because of the way the parsley was packaged, at least two of the students believed it was marijuana,' said Rockdale County Sheriff's Deputy Myra Pearrell. A teacher noticed one of the students appeared to be hiding something in his hand while sitting in the classroom. The other two students were identified later, Pearrell said.
