Administrators had discussed such a policy last year but made a decision to implement it this month, said Director of Secondary Education Michael DeBartolomeo. 'The goal here is to prevent underage drinking. The goal is not to catch kids,' said DeBartolomeo. The decision follows the citation of seven juveniles by police for underage drinking at a Henderson High School dance in February. To date, more than 40 students have been cited for alcohol or drug infractions during the 2003-04 school year as compared to the 20 who were cited in the previous school year.
