Are you willing to point out something that makes you look worse in order to be right?

For example, my dad was saying how he didn't think I would follow through with going to college again because I hadn't been there in three years. I told him it had actually been four years. Of course, I was validating his point even more by saying so, but I couldn't help correcting him.
