zysthaezia asked

Do visually-based works of fiction require words to be entertaining?

That is, any verbal component immediately obvious to the viewer, be it spoken dialogue, written dialogue, captions, or subtext. Would a comic book still be interesting if it were pages upon pages of nothing but pictures, with no text whatsoever to accompany them? Would anyone want to sit through a two-hour silent movie with no captions or subtext?
