Ashley and Marion were once popular names for both boys and girls--now they're generally regarded as 'girls' names.' And yes, I realize first names in and of themselves are genderless. By 'androgynous' I mean that the names are commonly given to both boys and girls, and by 'feminine' I mean that the names are given primarily to girls.
