PBS had a show about a year ago, called Frontier House. It took several families to a 19th century frontier where they had to live, work, and eat exactly like people living in that time would for about 5 months. Similarly, they have a new show now, called Colonial House, which is the same idea, but the families are taken back to colonial times. It's very interesting to see how people adjust and change to their new surroundings.
