Should the Portmarnock Golf Club be forced to accept women, in order to be able to sell alcohol?

Discrimination could cost Irish golf club its ale A week without Guinness or Jameson Irish Whiskey at a Dublin golf course? If a judge's ruling is upheld, that will be the case for the Portmarnock Golf Club. Portmarnock, founded in 1894, should be banned from selling alcohol for a week as punishment for discriminating against women, District Court Judge Mary Collins ruled Tuesday. Of course, the golf club appealed the decision, and Ireland's second-highest court will rule in the fall. The National Women's Council of Ireland — inspired by similar protests against the Augusta National Golf Club in the United States — filed a complaint with the Equality Authority in 2002. In February, Collins ruled in favor of the Equality Authority, which argued that the suburban Dublin club was breaching a 2000 anti-discrimination law
