Pet owners: When you brush/comb your animal, do you take the fur you get outside for birds to make nests out of?

I always do this but while breaking up a huge ball of fluff and blowing it into the wind outside today I was wondering if that would look strange to anyone passing by...? I've always done that since I was a little girl.
