If abortion is considered morally acceptable, does it entail that it is acceptable for any reason?

Assuming a non-life threatening situation on the mother's part. If it is acceptable to terminate a pregnancy (presumably, but not necessarily, on the basis that it is not in a state at which human rights are applicable), does it matter whether it is done for financial or cosmetic reasons? Or simply on a whim? If not, why (in respect to what made it acceptable generally)?
