I'd have to hunt around for a source but I saw a documentary that suggested traditional Christians around the time of Darwin and for many years after would have no problem with ideas about natural selection. It all became political surprisingly recently in the USA and cause a rift. Personally I never see the divison in the UK or Korea; many people are Christians and almost all believe in evolution.
