Positive stereotypes would include things like Asians or people who wear glasses being smart. While most people recognize that stereotypes are based on some modicum of truth, they are certainly bad when applied to an individual simply because he or she is a member of a group. So if you object only to those stereotypes that are negative, and not to positive stereotypes, is it hypocritical?
