That if 2 events occur within a short space of time, they will be linked togther in memory. Used in classical conditioning experiments such as Pavlov; in which he presented a dog with food causing it to salivate, and sounded a tone at the same time. Because they were presented together, a link was formed and the dog would salivate on the sound of the tone alone.
