Do you find it hard to take Christianity seriously when even the Christians can't agree what God wants?

Depending on who you listen to, homosexuality is both right and wrong, you should eat fish on a Friday except when you don't have to, contraception is a sin but only for some Christians and only Christians will go to heaven except when God accepts anybody who led a good life. I'd take it more seriously if there wasn't so much conflict and somebody actually did know what God wants from us.
