A new car is being launched featuring groundbreaking technology which means it can read road signs and warn drivers of speed limit changes. The new Vauxhall is equipped with a camera, mounted on the inside of the windscreen behind the rear view mirror, which can detect road signs ahead. It shoots 30 still pictures every second and then uses image recognition software to identify speed limit signs. When a sign is detected the information is sent to the instrument display which shows the speed limit clearly for the driver even if they've missed it.If the speed limit has changed the car will also warn the driver with an alert sound.
